Is it permissible to adopt the Maliki fatwa concerning sprinkling clothes with water when drops of urine fall on them, in order to دفع المشقة (alleviate hardship), and does this affect the validity of the prayer?

The Malikis are of the view that whoever doubts whether a garment or the like has been touched by impurity must sprinkle it with water (i.e., sprinkle a small amount of water on it). If one intentionally omits sprinkling, their prayer becomes invalid and must be repeated perpetually. However, if one omits it due to forgetfulness or inability, they only need to repeat the prayer within its prescribed time. It is permissible for a common Muslim to adopt this madhhab (school of thought) when in doubt about urine droplets touching a garment or the body. It is also recommended to sprinkle water on the private parts and trousers after performing istinja' (washing after relieving oneself) to eliminate whisperings (waswas).
