Is it permissible for a husband to work with women in one office, and is it permissible for a man to have a secretary, and what should he do to avoid the company of female colleagues if the work requires it, and is it permissible for him to accept a job involving intermingling in a non-Muslim country with non-Islamic laws, or must he search for another job that is better for a Muslim according to Sharia?

It is not permissible for women to mix with men, whether in Islamic or non-Islamic countries, due to the moral corruption it causes and the loss of modesty and reverence. The Sharia has indicated this by prohibiting mixing in Eid prayers and preferring the last rows for women to keep them away from men. The danger of a woman working as a secretary for a man continuously lies in the removal of modesty and formality between them. A Muslim should seek work that does not involve mixing.
