Is the questioner sinful for advising a preacher whose actions do not conform to the Sunnah (such as sleeping through Fajr prayer, letting his garment hang below his ankles, and shaving his beard), and who is illiterate, by saying to him: "You are not worthy of it, and when you step aside, someone better than you will come"?

The aforementioned brother should be advised to abstain from the sins mentioned. Sagging the garment below the ankles (isbal) is a sin, but it does not invalidate prayers performed behind someone who commits it. Shaving the beard is prohibited according to the majority of scholars. It is recommended for this brother to step down from leading the prayer (Imamah) if there is someone more knowledgeable or more learned in the Book of Allah.
