What is the meaning of the name "Lauren"? And what is the ruling on naming with it in Islam?

The name "Lauren" is a foreign, Latin name specific to disbelievers, so it is not permissible to be named with it. This is because it is the name of a cross with a specific shape, and it is the name of regions and churches in Europe. Thus, it falls under the category of names specific to disbelievers, which Muslims are not allowed to use due to the imitation involved. Sheikh Bakr Abu Zayd, may Allah have mercy on him, explained that naming with foreign names specific to disbelievers is forbidden. If this is done out of a belief in their superiority over Muslim names, then this poses a great danger that shakes the very foundation of faith.
