Is the funeral prayer valid if the Imam prays with the bier behind him due to lack of space?

There is no disagreement among scholars regarding the prohibition of standing in front of a funeral bier when praying over it, because the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed over funeral biers in this manner. Furthermore, praying over it is an intercession for it, and its presence in front of the worshiper is like the state of an intercessor pointing towards it. The majority of scholars stipulated that one should not stand in front of the funeral bier, and some of them stipulated that one should stand parallel to it. Based on this, the prayer of anyone who stands in front of the funeral bier is invalidated.
