What is the ruling regarding a husband who mistreated his wife and divorced her three times after having a relationship with another woman, then refused to give her her rights? Does she have a right [to claim] even in the Hereafter?

If the husband forces his wife to relinquish her rights through beating, harassment, or withholding maintenance, then the khula' (divorce at the instance of the wife, with compensation) is invalid and the compensation must be returned. If the wife is unable to reclaim her right through the judiciary, then her right is preserved with Allah on the Day of Judgment, where rights will be restored to their rightful owners. Divorce may not always be evil; "but if they separate, Allah will enrich each of them from His abundance."
