If a woman exchanged her gold that reached the Nisab for other gold during the hawl (the lunar year), does she begin a new hawl for the second gold she purchased?

Do not start a new hawl (zakat year) for the exchanged gold; rather, complete the hawl of the first gold. The rule among scholars is that whoever exchanges wealth on which zakat is due for wealth of the same jins (category) does not start a new hawl but continues on the hawl of the first wealth. Ibn Qudamah mentioned in "Al-Mughni" that if someone sells a nisab (minimum taxable amount) of zakat-eligible wealth for wealth of the same jins, such as camels for camels or gold for gold, the hawl is not interrupted, and the hawl of the second is built upon the hawl of the first. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen issued a fatwa that the hawl is not interrupted in this matter because the woman exchanged gold for gold of the same jins.
