The answer

If a person commits the sin of adultery, he must hasten to repent to Allah. Allah will transform the evil deeds of the penitent into good deeds if he is sincere in his repentance. Allah Almighty says: "Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful." (Quran 25:70) And Allah Almighty also says: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'" (Quran 39:53) As for the one who persists in sin, Allah has threatened him with a painful torment if he does not repent. You can refer to Fatwa no. 32743 regarding the ruling on marrying a woman with whom adultery was committed and the ruling on a child resulting from adultery.
