Is it permissible for the wife to take the money that her husband paid to another person based on that person's lie, knowing that the money was originally aid from that person to the wife, and that the wife fears telling her husband the truth? Would she be sinful if she took the money? And is it permissible for her to borrow the amount from that person to return it to her husband?

What the person did, informing the husband falsely that his wife borrowed a certain amount from him, and increasing it to ask the husband to pay it back, is impermissible. Lying is forbidden, and good intentions do not justify it. To resolve the issue and avoid harm, that person should inform the husband that the increase was by mistake, then the husband should pay the actual amount, and that person should return it to the wife because he gave it to her as a gift. However, if he took the money from the husband and handed it to the wife, she must return to the husband the amount exceeding her known right without disclosing the details if that would lead to harm. Instead, she can give it to him as a gift.
