What is the prescribed punishment for someone who has committed sodomy four times, believing it to be permissible, and how can this punishment be carried out, taking into consideration his health condition, as he suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and his current feeling that it is still permissible for him because he is intersex?

Sodomy in all its forms is forbidden for all accountable individuals. The enormity of its corruption lies in its being second only to the corruption of disbelief, and perhaps even greater than the corruption of murder. Its perpetrators have been punished with severe penalties that Allah has not inflicted upon any nation other than them.

The Companions unanimously agreed on executing its perpetrator, though their opinions varied regarding the method of execution, oscillating between stoning and burning. The majority of the Salaf and jurists held the view that its prescribed punishment is death by stoning, whether the individual is virgin or previously married.

The one who commits this abomination is not required to come forward to have the prescribed punishment carried out upon himself. Rather, he must conceal himself, repent sincerely to Allah, and distance himself from this terrible evil.
