Must one make up vowed prostrations of thankfulness (sujūd al-shukr al-mandhūrah) that were missed due to menstruation?

Prostration of thankfulness (sujud (definition) al-shukr) is only prescribed when a new blessing is received or a misfortune is averted. Worshipping Allah with a solitary prostration without a cause is not legislated. Therefore, this vow is not legislated, and it is not obligatory to fulfill it. As for the necessity of expiation, there is a difference of opinion among scholars. It is better not to fulfill it and to offer an expiation for an oath (kaffarat yamin (definition)) as a precaution and to avoid the disagreement.
