If a child or a simple-minded person finds a lost item (Luqatah), their guardian is responsible for announcing it. The guardian must take the item from them because they are not qualified to safeguard it or be entrusted with it. If the guardian leaves it with them and it gets damaged, the guardian is liable for it. If their guardian announces it and the owner is not found, the item belongs to them, just as it would for a mature and sane adult.
