Is a piece of gold found in a path between trees considered a “Luqatah” (found item) or a treasure, and is it permissible to give it to someone to wear until its owner is found, given the impossibility of announcing it for fear of students’ aggression?

Gold or silver lost property must be publicly announced for a full year. If its owner is not found after this period, the finder is permitted to benefit from it, provided that it remains a trust with him, and he must hand it over to its owner whenever he appears and identifies it. If it is damaged, he must pay its equivalent or its value.
