Does the lack of feeling awe, fear, or joy when performing 'Umrah, despite committing sins and hoping for purification, mean that the questioner is a hypocrite and that Allah does not wish good for him?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The absence of awe or fear upon entering the Haram does not indicate hypocrisy (nifaq), for a hypocrite does not feel pangs of conscience. Hypocrisy has distinct signs such as lying, treachery, and obscenity. The questioner must avoid the signs of hypocrisy and fear it, and strive in obedience and repentance, for this is an indication that Allah desires good for him. He should also exert effort in deepening his understanding of the religion.
