How was the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, during Ramadan?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform many acts of worship in . Gabriel would review the Quran with him during it, and he was the most generous of people during that time.
He would frequently recite the Quran, pray, engage in dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and perform eleven rak'ahs of night prayer. He also observed i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) during the last ten days.
He used to observe continuous fasting (wisal), but he forbade his Companions from doing so. He would break his fast before prayer with fresh dates or dried dates, and he clarified that the fasting person has a supplication that is not rejected.
He also encouraged the pre-dawn meal () and delaying it due to its blessings.
