Why is there no attention given to the abduction and rape of girls in Algeria, and their abandonment in the streets?
It is the right of a Muslim upon another Muslim to be cared for, supported, and protected; this is the loyalty between believers. What happened in Algeria, with the abduction and rape of some believing women, is a saddening and painful matter. We ask Allah to protect Muslim women and to ward off the evil of criminals. Whoever is afflicted by such an abominable act, let her be patient and seek reward from Allah, and there is no sin upon her as long as she was coerced. She must beware of Satan's enticement to make her among the immoral, under the pretext that her honor has been violated. There is no comparison between one who fell into the forbidden under duress and one who did so willingly, for adultery is one of the most heinous crimes and carries a severe punishment.
