Is it permissible to recite the Quran over money—such as reciting Surat Quraysh over new money—for the purpose of increasing it or preserving its blessing?

Reading Surat Quraysh or any other surah (definition) from the Qur’an over money with the intention of increasing or preserving it has no evidence for its permissibility, nor was it customary in the practice of the predecessors of this Ummah. All good lies in following the predecessors, and all evil lies in the innovations of the successors.
