What is the ruling on reciting the Qur’an in Bid’ah (innovated) ways, such as reciting Surat Al-Baqarah after Fajr and Maghrib prayers for 15 days, or writing a specific Surah and soaking it in water, or repeating Al-Fatihah 17 times, or reciting specific parts daily with repeating certain verses from Surat Ya-Sin 1000 times? And what is the ruling on conjuring a Muslim angel to obtain money? And is it obligatory to respond to those who promote these ideas?

Reading the Quran is one of the greatest acts of obedience. For every letter read, there is a good deed, and a good deed is rewarded tenfold. However, specifying the reading of a particular surah at a certain time or a specific number of times to achieve a particular virtue requires a legal (Shari'ah) proof; otherwise, it would be an innovation (bid'ah). The claim that an angel can be brought down to obtain gold is a lie and a deception, for angels are not subject to human will, and they only descend by Allah's command for revelation, punishment, or taking souls. One must not pay attention to these charlatans and should warn others against them.
