What is the amount of Zakat due on lemon fruits that were sold for a period of six months and their price was collected?

The jurists have determined that it is not permissible to sell fruits until their ripeness becomes apparent. If they are sold before their ripeness becomes apparent, without the condition of immediate harvesting, the seller is sinful if he was aware of the prohibition, the sale is void, and he must return the money to the buyer. The buyer, in turn, must return the fruit if it is still present, or its value, and compensate the seller with the equivalent of its harvesting and sale. This is supported by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) prohibition of selling fruits until their ripeness becomes apparent. As for the zakat (definition) on lemons, it is not obligatory on the lemons themselves. If they are sold, zakat is not obligatory on their price until a full year has passed over it, and it reaches the nisab (definition) either by itself or when combined with other similar assets. The amount of zakat on it is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%).
