It is not permissible to supplicate against oneself with illness, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not supplicate against yourselves." If the story of the woman who supplicated against herself with illness is true, she could have prayed for her grandson's healing without supplicating against herself. The best way to raise children not to transgress in supplication is to adhere to the supplications mentioned in the Quran and , for they combine the good of this world and the hereafter and suffice from all else. These should be taught to children, and adults should adhere to them to serve as role models.
