What is the ruling on a woman cleaning her eyebrows without reshaping them?

It is not permissible to take from the eyebrow hair, whether to thin them, reshape them, or what is called "cleaning" (removing excess hair); because that is from the forbidden namṣ (plucking) for which a curse was mentioned. Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, his saying: "Allah has cursed the women who tattoo and those who have themselves tattooed, and the women who pluck eyebrows (al-Namisat) and those who have their eyebrows plucked (al-Mutanammisat), and the women who make spaces between their teeth for beauty, altering the creation of Allah."
