Is it obligatory for a female student to abandon her mixed-gender studies in France and return to Morocco, given that her father is an apostate? And would her spending on him be considered haram (forbidden)? And is it permissible for her to accept social welfare during the period of preparing for her return to Morocco?

Scholars have differed regarding the wealth of an apostate. Some hold that it becomes fay' (spoils acquired without battle) for the Muslim treasury, while others maintain that it goes to his Muslim heirs. The latter view is that of Abu Bakr and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both). Therefore, there is no harm in benefiting from your father's inheritance or his financial support, even if he is an apostate.

If your residing with your apostate father does not result in harm to your religion, then return to your country and strive to advise your father and supplicate for his guidance. However, residing in France, with its trials, mixing (of genders), and prohibition of the hijab, is not permissible.

As for receiving social aid during the period of preparation for your return, it is permissible if the law governing its disbursement allows it, for "Muslims are bound by their conditions."
