Was the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) afflicted by an illness that prevented him from leading the Muslims in prayer for a day and a night, or was there another reason? And did he pray in congregation with others on that day?

Congregational prayer holds great virtue, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was diligent in observing it even during his severe illness.

The first hadith is authentic and indicates that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed in congregation at his home with those companions who visited him, due to an illness resulting from his fall from his horse, and not due to his abstention from his wives. Scholars have used this hadith as evidence that illness is an excuse for not attending congregational prayer at the mosque.

As for the other narration, its chain of transmission is not authentic, even if its general meaning has been conveyed in other hadiths.
