Is it permissible for a person who is not attracted to women and has inclinations towards the same sex, and cannot marry for fear of wronging his wife or being exposed, to practice masturbation, or to use medical drugs to permanently eliminate sexual desire?

A man's inclination towards others of his own sex goes against natural disposition (fitra). If this inclination is not self-acquired and does not lead to sin, then the person is not held accountable for it. However, it should be resisted, and one should be cautious not to fall into sin because of it. But if it is self-acquired or if a sin is committed because of it, then the person is accountable. It is recommended to supplicate (make du'a) and seek treatment from specialists. It is obligatory for an impotent man, or one with a defect that prevents the purpose of marriage, to inform the woman he intends to marry about it. Masturbation is forbidden except out of necessity. There are many ways to reduce the intensity of lust, including medications, but it is not permissible to use anything that completely eliminates lust.
