The question

Can the practice of masturbation be considered a means of satisfying an abnormal sexual urge (sodomy) and preventing adultery? Is marriage permissible for someone with an inclination towards men, without satisfying the wife, taking into account the strength of desire in youth and the fear of abandoning religion due to the fatwas of some preachers?

The answer

Sexual instinct is natural, but what is important is to deal with it according to divine legislations. Marriage is the best way to satisfy it and protect one's private parts. Whoever is unable to marry should fast, avoid stimulants and foods that sexually energize. Homosexuality is a serious and forbidden deviation for which Allah punishes its doer, and masturbation is lesser than it but it is forbidden and one must repent from it. Marriage is the most successful way to satisfy the sexual instinct in a permissible manner. As for abandoning religion because of people's talk, it is inappropriate, for religion is from Allah and it is in man's interest.
