Is a wife obligated to cook for her husband, and is she considered disobedient if she does not?

Sheikh Ibn Jibreen stated that the prevailing custom among Muslims dictates that a wife serves her husband with the usual services, such as preparing food, washing clothes and dishes, and cleaning the house, in a manner consistent with the circumstances of each. This custom has been in practice from the Prophetic era until now without objection. However, a wife should not be burdened with tasks that entail hardship; rather, it should be according to her ability and custom.
