Is it permissible to spend mosque endowment funds to cover legal expenses for lawsuits between the trustees themselves concerning the management of the mosque?

The funds of a mosque's endowment (waqf) are designated for its interests, construction, maintenance, and related matters such as establishing da'wah (inviting to Islam) and beneficial knowledge. It is not permissible to spend them on purposes other than those sanctioned by Sharia or specified by the endower. Otherwise, the person who made the disbursement is liable to guarantee the funds from their own wealth. The supervisor of the waqf and anyone holding authority is not permitted to act except by bringing about a benefit or averting harm. They must act in a manner that is most beneficial. It is not permissible to spend waqf funds on disputes between trustees, as this is not in the mosque's interest.
