What is the ruling on what I committed in the past by practicing sodomy with my brother without anal penetration, and what is your advice to me regarding maintaining kinship ties with him after Allah has protected and guided me?

There is no sin or legal punishment for what you did before puberty, according to the hadith: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the child until he reaches puberty."

You must conceal your own sins and those of your brother, thank Allah for His blessings, strive for guidance, and cooperate in obedience.

Maintaining ties of kinship is obligatory, as long as it does not lead to disobedience. Allah has threatened those who sever kinship ties with curses and expulsion from His mercy. Allah Almighty says: "So would you, perhaps, if you turned away, cause corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship? Those are the ones whom Allah has cursed, so He made them deaf and blinded their vision." And: "No severer of kinship ties will enter Paradise." Furthermore, maintaining ties of kinship is a cause for the expansion of provisions and the prolongation of life.
