Is a girl held accountable for the whispers of disbelief and bad thoughts, especially those concerning the Divine Essence, which increase as her obedience to Allah increases? Is this a trial, given her fear that it might lead her to disbelief or insanity, despite her diligence in worship and remembrance, her avoidance of forbidden things, and her rejection of marriage due to these whispers?

What the questioner is feeling might be due to the evil eye or merely whispers from Satan. These affect Muslims and even afflicted some Companions, which is a sign of pure faith. A distinction must be made between satanic whispers, which do not affect faith, and doubt, which harms it. Satan is eager to mislead believers, so one should not surrender to him. What has befallen the questioner is a trial from Allah, and its removal is achieved through legitimate means.

The treatment is as follows: 1. Seeking refuge with Allah from Satan and saying, "I believe in Allah and His Messenger." 2. Increasing remembrance of Allah (dhikr) and regularly reciting the prescribed invocations. 3. Increasing the recitation of the Qur'an, especially Surat Al-Baqarah, and reciting verses from it over water for drinking and bathing. 4. Increasing acts of obedience, worship, and supplication (dua), and seeking out times when supplications are answered. 5. Purifying the home from sins that attract devils. 6. Keeping company with righteous women or occupying oneself with beneficial activities. 7. Seeking ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) from trustworthy individuals, while being wary of charlatans. It is preferable for the raqi (exorcist) to be a righteous woman, or for one to perform ruqyah on oneself. 8. Not rejecting a suitor for this reason, as marriage might be a means of recovery.
