What is the ruling on graduates wearing the unified graduation gown if it is said to be the attire of priests and monks when they are baptized in churches?

It is forbidden for Muslims to imitate disbelievers in their specific attire, due to the generality of evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah, such as the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them,” and his prohibition of wearing saffron-dyed clothes because they are the clothes of disbelievers. Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote: “And beware of indulgence and the attire of polytheists and silk garments.” Based on this, it is not permissible to wear the “gown” at graduation because it is from the garments of Christians, and a Muslim should be proud of his religion.
