What is the ruling on wearing the hooded abaya that resembles the attire of Christian nuns or priests, which has become widespread among Muslim women?

If the abaya is a garment specific to disbelievers and a sign of them, then it is not permissible for Muslim women to wear it, due to the prohibition of imitating them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." However, if it is widespread among Muslims and not specific to disbelievers, then it is not considered imitation, even if its origin was from them or it resembles their clothing.
