Do you ask of Allah for what you desire in Paradise, or does it come true merely by imagining it?

In Paradise, Allah will grant the Muslim everything he wishes for, as Allah Almighty says: "And for you therein is what your souls desire, and for you therein is what you request [or wish]."

One obtains what he desires sometimes by supplicating and asking, and sometimes by wishing and longing. It is narrated in Al-Bukhari that a man from the people of Paradise sought his Lord's permission to plant, and He granted him what he desired. In another description of the last person to enter Paradise, it is said to him: "Wish until your wishes are exhausted," then it is said to him: "You shall have that and its like with it."

And from Abu Umamah, that a man from the people of Paradise will desire a drink, and the pitcher will come to his hand, and he will drink. Al-Shawkani mentioned in Fath al-Qadeer regarding the verse: "They will have therein whatever they wish," that they will have in the Gardens whatever their will falls upon, purely and spontaneously, obtained by mere willing.

It is preferable not to delve deeply into questioning about these matters, as Abu Dawud narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There will be people who go to extremes in supplication."
