Is it permissible to say that the Messengers benefit from the destruction of their peoples, and that the expression "calamities of some people are benefits to others" applies to the Prophets, knowing that they benefit from the destruction of the disbelievers through their own salvation?

The saying, "Calamities for some are benefits for others," is a common proverb, a popular saying, and it was mentioned in the poetry of Al-Mutanabbi. Prophets and those who invite to Allah are the most merciful of people towards creation, and they strive their utmost to guide them. Nevertheless, Allah Almighty decreed destruction upon those who were arrogant and oppressive, as in the story of Noah, the believer from Aal Yasin, 'Ad, and Thamud. Undoubtedly, the destruction of the oppressor brings joy to the believer, because through it, people, lands, trees, and animals find rest from their evil and harm, and their cunning is removed from the earth. Moreover, their destruction leads to the inheritance of the land, homes, and wealth by Allah's righteous servants, and Allah's victory for His prophets becomes manifest. The joy of the prophets at the destruction of the oppressors does not contradict their exalted status; rather, it is a matter of removing hardship from the people of faith, as Allah Almighty says: "So the root of the people who wronged was cut off. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
