What is the ruling regarding a wife who leaves her husband's house for the fourth time without his knowledge and refuses to return after a family occasion has ended, given the husband's awareness of her family's continuous incitement against him?

Once a woman is under the marital authority of her husband, he has more claim over her than her parents, and her obedience to him takes precedence over her obedience to them. Therefore, if the wife leaves the house without her husband's permission and without a legitimate Islamic reason, she is considered rebellious (nashiz). Attending her brother's wedding does not permit her to do so unless her husband grants her permission. If the steps to rectify a rebellious wife are ineffective, the husband should seek the help of wise individuals from his family and her family to address this problem, encourage her to return to her home, and admonish her parents against inciting her to rebellion. The wife's parents should intervene in a way that leads to reconciliation, and it is not permissible for them to strive for discord. The husband is not obligated to allow his wife to frequently visit her family; rather, the matter is up to him to permit her as he deems appropriate for the benefit.
