Is the failure of aunts to reciprocate affection, despite attempts to communicate with them through the husband, considered a severance of kinship ties, and is the one who severs kinship ties permanently deprived of Paradise?

The Sharia commanded maintaining ties of kinship even with those who sever them. There is no doubt that paternal aunts and uncles are among the kin with whom ties must be maintained. The Sharia did not specify a particular method for maintaining ties; rather, the reference for this is custom and what is considered a connection, such as greeting, visiting, and calling. There are degrees of maintaining ties, the lowest of which is abandoning estrangement and offering greetings. One who severs ties of kinship will not enter Paradise with the first to enter, and maintaining ties of kinship is a cause for blessings in sustenance and life, as stated in the Hadith: "Whoever desires that his provision be expanded for him or his lifespan be extended, let him maintain ties of kinship."
