Will a friend who died suddenly while playing, though he was diligent in performing prayers on time, enter the Hellfire? Is his death considered heedlessness of Allah? And what is the way out of the obsessive fear of dying heedlessly while preoccupied with worldly matters?

Steadfastness and perseverance in religion are the path to happiness, and they are achieved by seeking Allah's help, turning to Him, acting upon His Book, following the guidance of His Prophet (peace be upon him), accompanying good people, and avoiding bad company. Isolation and idleness help Satan overpower a person. As for playing, some of it is encouraged, such as certain beneficial sports, and some of it is permissible, provided it is free from prohibitions and does not lead to neglecting obligations. As for the deceased friend, good and mercy are hoped for him as long as he used to pray, but his ultimate destiny cannot be definitively determined due to ignorance of the unseen.
