What is the way to deal with a wife who refuses intimacy and neglects her appearance, which causes the husband's unhappiness and his desire for divorce, along with his intense fear of being away from his daughter should it occur?

Allah commanded spouses to treat each other well. If the wife refuses her husband's bed without a valid excuse, she is disobedient and rebellious (nashiz). The husband should admonish her, then forsake her in bed, and finally strike her without causing injury. If these measures fail, he should send two arbiters, one from his family and one from hers, to reconcile them. The husband may threaten her with divorce, or issue one divorce and then take her back, or marry another woman while keeping her. The husband should also review himself and his relationship with his wife, as he might be falling short. A believer should be patient and seek help through prayer, and beware of suicide because it is a grave sin that brings torment in the afterlife and causes distress to the family.
