How should a husband deal with his wife who seems uninterested in him, does not reciprocate his feelings, creates problems, constantly threatens him with divorce, and only wishes to stay with him due to pressure from her family?

The husband should repent and seek forgiveness from Allah. He should advise his wife by clarifying the impermissibility of her refusal to allow intimacy, as it constitutes nushūz (disobedience/rebellion). He should be patient with her and treat her kindly. If she persists in her nushūz, then the stages of addressing nushūz must be followed. If these measures do not prove effective and it becomes clear that she dislikes remaining with him, then it is recommended to divorce her. In such a case, it is permissible for the husband to refrain from divorcing her until she offers him fidyah (a compensatory payment for release).
