Are astronomers who study a person's psyche and personality traits based on the movement of planets considered among the scholars whom God has favored, and is believing what they say permissible or forbidden?

Astronomy is of two types: computational and divinatory. Computational astronomy is permissible by consensus, indeed, it is a communal obligation (fard kifaya), due to the Almighty’s saying: "The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation." As for divinatory astronomy, it is forbidden and considered magic, due to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever acquires some knowledge of the stars has acquired a branch of magic; the more he acquires, the more he acquires." And because it is a claim to knowledge of the unseen, which Allah alone possesses. Therefore, the astronomer (astrologer) is sinful for this act, and he must repent and cease astrology.
