It is permissible for a Muslim to listen to Islamic nasheeds (chants) that encourage good and discourage evil, and that do not contradict the call to jihad in the Quran and . However, they should not become a habit that distracts from the Quran, nor should they be accompanied by music or sounds strongly resembling it. The nasheeds presented on our website are not of this kind. As for vocalizing and singing permissible words without forbidden instruments, jurists have differed regarding its ruling, with opinions ranging from prohibition to dislike (karaha) to permissibility. The most sound opinion is permissibility, as a concession has been granted for it.
