I am asking about the game of Ludo.

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The game of Ludo is prohibited because it relies on dice, and dice are prohibited in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever plays backgammon (nardashir) is as if he dipped his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig." And Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever plays dice (nard) has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger." Scholars have stated that "nardashir" is indeed dice (nard). Scholars have agreed on the prohibition of playing dice, even if it is without gambling, and some have considered it among the major sins.
