What is the ruling on working as an accountant in a company that sells its products to customers with lower quality and efficiency than agreed upon, significantly raises prices, and deceives the customer with lies, knowing that my work is focused on recording transactions and pressing the sales representative to collect money?

What the company does by way of cheating, lying, and unjustly devouring people's wealth is forbidden. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibited cheating, saying: "Whoever cheats is not from me." If the two parties to a sale are truthful and disclose, their sale will be blessed. If they lie, the blessing of their sale will be erased. There is no harm in price differences among customers if it is by mutual consent.

It is incumbent upon you to forbid this evil and to inform those who were cheated of what happened. They then have the choice of upholding the contract, canceling it, or taking compensation for the defect. A sale with the concealment of a defect is valid but is a sin.

Your work as an accountant is originally permissible. However, it is not permissible for you to assist in a transaction that involves cheating or lying, based on the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
