Is it permissible for a person to look at their 'awrah while bathing?

Most jurists agree on the permissibility for a Muslim to uncover their 'awrah in private when there is a need, such as for bathing or medical treatment. There is no harm in looking at it when there is a need, but it is preferable not to look at it if the need can be met without doing so. Evidence for this is the hadith: "Allah is more deserving that one should feel shyness before Him than before people."
