Is the wife more entitled to her husband’s companionship and to spend leisure time with her, and is it obligatory to entertain her at home when there is no permissible religious or worldly need, and is it obligatory to take her along when going out for recreation and strolling?

Islam urges that a husband treat his wife with love, kindness, and affection, as Allah Almighty says: "And live with them in kindness." The Sunnah (definition) also encourages this, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The most complete in faith among believers is the one with the best character, and the best of you are those who are best to their women," and his saying: "The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best of you to my family." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had excellent companionship; he would joke with his family and keep them company. Therefore, a husband's companionship with his wife and bringing joy to her is religiously مطلوب (desirable/required), as is taking her outside the home, provided that the শরعي (Islamic legal) conditions for a woman's going out are met.
