The statement that all humans err, except for John the son of Zechariah (Yahya ibn Zakariyya), was reported in a Marfu‘ Hadith (a narration directly attributed to the Prophet, peace be upon him) by Imam Ahmad and Al-Tabarani. Some scholars authenticated it, while others deemed it weak. Its wording is: "There is no one from the descendants of Adam but has erred or intended to err, except for John the son of Zechariah." Al-Albani authenticated it with this wording.
