Will Allah honor a living servant through the righteous deceased if the servant supplicates to Allah by virtue of the sheikh's righteousness, merit, and worship, knowing that the benefit is from Allah alone?

Interceding with Allah through means not reported from the Prophet (ﷺ) or his Companions, such as interceding by the status or rank of righteous people, is a reprehensible innovation. Acts of worship are based on divine texts (tawqif), and this practice has not been established from the predecessors. Rather, it is established that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to intercede by the supplication of living righteous people, not by their very persons. Thus, the legitimate means of intercession are interceding by Allah's Names and Attributes, His Oneness (Tawhid), righteous deeds, and the supplication of living righteous people.
