ما هي أنواع التوسل؟

Intercession (Tawassul) is of four types:

1. Intercession through faith in Allah and His Messenger, and obedience to them: This is what faith cannot be complete without, and it includes intercession through the Names and Attributes of Allah and through acts of obedience.

2. Intercession by seeking the supplication of the Messenger or the supplication of believers for one another: This is a highly encouraged matter.

3. Intercession through the status (Jah) of a created being or their essence (dhat): This is forbidden, because supplication should only be made through the Names and Attributes of Allah.

4. Intercession through the supplication of the Prophet and seeking aid from the dead and saints: This is major polytheism (Shirk Akbar), because it is directing an act of worship to other than Allah.
