Is everything predestined and inscribed in the Preserved Tablet only what will happen until the Hour and the Day of Resurrection, or does Allah's knowledge encompass all that will come after the Hour, and what has not happened, and all infinite possibilities of what could happen?

The texts of revelation indicate an absolute recording of destinies, such as Allah Almighty's saying: ﴿We have not neglected in the Register anything﴾ (Al-An'am: 38), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: «Allah was, and there was nothing else besides Him, and His Throne was upon water, and He wrote everything in the Reminder, and He created the heavens and the earth.» Other texts clarify that this writing is specific to what will be until the Hour is established, such as the Hadith of the Pen: «Write the destinies of everything until the Hour is established.»

Thus, writing has a beginning when the Pen was created and an end when the Hour is established, unlike Allah's knowledge which has no beginning or end; it is broader and wider than writing. A Muslim's inquiry about matters of his religion is commendable, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿So ask the people of the message if you do not know﴾ (An-Nahl: 43), and His saying: ﴿And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to you, then ask those who recite the Scripture before you.﴾ (Yunus: 94). However, it is a condition for asking that the intention be sound for understanding and removing doubts, not for argumentation or delving into obscurities that have no benefit, or that might provoke whispers and doubts.
