Is it permissible to look at beautiful children, boys or girls, with the intention of contemplating the Creator's beauty and not out of lust?
There is no harm in looking at boys and men without lust. Similarly, it is permissible to look at a young girl who is not typically desired, as the suspicion of lust is absent. However, it is advisable to avoid looking at those among them who are beautiful, for fear that Satan might gradually lead a person to look with lust, or to something even greater. Instead, it is recommended to ponder God's cosmic and Quranic verses with a heart illuminated by the light of revelation, to reflect upon God's names, attributes, and greatness, to submit to Him, and to act in accordance with what He loves. For God's status in the servant's heart is commensurate with his knowledge and veneration of Him, his modesty before Him, and his upholding the sanctity of His commands and prohibitions, and abiding by His rulings.
