What is the ruling regarding a son who caused his family to break up and his mother to be divorced, instilled hatred in his father's heart towards his siblings, and neglected his mother and siblings until they faced difficult living conditions, and insists on his refusal to inquire about them? Is this considered disobedience (ʿuqūq), and what is the view of Islam, Sharia, and Sunnah on this matter?

The mother is she who carried, nursed, and stayed up caring for her children. Showing kindness to her is a rational and moral duty. Allah and His Messenger have made honoring the mother one of the greatest acts of obedience; for she carried the human being "weakness upon weakness," and Paradise is at her feet, and the pleasure of Allah is in the pleasure of the parents, and His displeasure is in their displeasure. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, enjoined honoring the mother three times before the father, and made disobedience to parents one of the gravest sins after associating partners with Allah. Therefore, the action of a man who causes division among his family and seeks to harm his mother is a horrific and ugly act, and its outcome will be regret and loss if he does not repent.
